Market Thoughts: Breaking Free from Tradition
Putting a house on the market used to be a task retained for the Spring or the Autumn. With lifestyles that are supported by 24/7 communication through the Internet, social media, meetings happening on Skype from half way across the globe and the rise of the property portals mean that surfing for your new home at any time of the day or night from the iPad on your knee, the traditional mantra of marketing houses just in the Spring and Autumn has well and truly had its day.
This year saw a flurry of activity from the moment the King West office doors were opened after the New Year with offers made and accepted on houses right from the first week of January. This momentum continued throughout the winter months and into early spring. More properties than in recent years were brought to market over the Easter period and into the start of the summer.
Our suggestion to you is that there is no need to wait! It would seem that traditions are being broken and the need to have purchases completed by the start of the summer is long gone. With Internet communications enabling email contact from the remotest white-sandy beach, offers can be made and accepted, terms discussed and deals completed without the need for vendor or buyer to be in the country at the time.
Summer sunshine and blue skies make for the most magical of photographs, so whilst we are enjoying this wonderful summer of 2015, do not delay. Carpe Diem. Get in touch with us today to organise your free market appraisal and let us help you to break free of bygone market traditions.
