Beautiful Country Homes To Let
Recently voted one of the best towns to live in the UK, Market Harborough is a town of many things to many people. A town of rich history, embroiled in the heritage of Richard III and the battles of Bosworth and Naseby with a Church with no Churchyard built in 1470 and Grammar School building at its epicenter dating back to 1614. Market Harborough was once part of Rockingham Forest, a royal hunting forest used by medieval monarchs starting with William I.
Now a hub for enterprise and small business, the home of the ever-expanding Joules clothing and home ware empire and less than an hour on the train to central London, Market Harborough is a part of rural Leicestershire which is gaining stature and prominence on the economic and residential map.
Moving to a new location is a daunting task. Travel to understand an area, visits to schools and of course to test the local eateries is always a vital aspect of any location exchange. However, more and more, people are choosing to rent for their first residence in a new area, firstly to understand the dynamics of local villages and hamlets and then to decide if Market Harborough living is for them.
Often given opportunity to market outstanding rental properties, we presently have three excellent locations to share.
Castle Farmhouse, Rockingham is a spacious 7-bed house occupying a commanding position in this picturesque village. Rockingham is an historic rural village with services including a village shop, church and public house.
Communications in the area are excellent with the main A6 trunk road set to the west of the village, linking the city of Leicester to the towns of Bedford and Kettering. The A14 dual carriageway is set some 9 miles south of the village, linking the M1 motorway to the west and the A1 Great North Road to the east. A main line rail service runs from Market Harborough and Kettering to London St Pancras taking just under the hour.
There is a wide choice of schooling in the area, including public schools at Oakham, Uppingham, Bedford, Kimbolton and Oundle. Sporting activities include water-based pursuits on Rutland Water. The attractive rolling countryside is also host to an extensive network of footpaths and bridleways to cater for the dog walker, rider and rambler alike.
Castle Farmhouse is available at £2,500 per calendar month.
Meadow Cottage, Harringworth is a beautifully decorated stone cottage in the centre of the attractive village of Harringworth. The village sits on the southern bank of the River Welland in an area of exceptional beauty within the rural Northamptonshire-Rutland countryside. The Welland Viaduct, which crosses the River Welland and its flood plain immediately to the west of the village, is a masterpiece in engineering and a spectacular addition to the landscape. For many centuries in medieval England, Harringworth was associated with the Zouche family who were Lords of the Manor.
The spacious open plan living space of Meadow Cottage with its cosy wood-burning stove in the living area provides a fantastic base for commuting via Market Harborough and for the local road network. Again the schools and sporting activities of the Rutland area are close by as are the market towns of Harborough and Stamford.
Meadow Cottage is available from the 1st August at £1,050 per calendar month.
Stone Barn, Maidwell, is a house is constructed of coursed ironstone under a pitched pan tile roof with hipped ends. The property was converted in 1996 to a high standard and benefits from exposed oak beams, a mix of stone, tile and wooden flooring and spacious accommodation throughout. To the south of the property, a large terrace benefits from pagoda style trellis which overlooks a large well kept lawn of which the east border is bordered by spinney.
To the north, a gravel drive with turning circle provides access to the front of the property and stables block building. Well-established shrubs and a lawned area overlooking Dale Pond and spinney border the driveway. The barn has 4 bedrooms, 3 with ensuite and considerable out buildings including garden store, three stables, workshop and garden shed.
Maidwell is a vibrant village with a fantastic community spirit sitting 4 miles south of Market Harborough and 10 miles north of Northampton.
Stone Barn is available immediately at £2,500 per calendar month.
